“I will take your head off” – US Policeman to Pakistani Driver

A Pakistan-born driver in US was threatened by a Washington DC police officer during a traffic stop.

The story was made public by famous and much acclaimed reporter- David Greogry- a CNN based writer.  He revealed to the authorities that he overheard the officer telling his driver, “I will take everything away from you.” The police officer further threatened the driver by saying, “I will take your head off.”

Gregory published the story on Twitter account and was soon contacted by the official authorities who expressed their concern and regret over the issue.

The office of Mayor Muriel E Bowser responded in a statement saying;

“The incident described on social media does not illustrate who we are as a city or how we carry ourselves when serving residents and members of the public. We have already made contact to understand what transpired and will review the matter.”

The incident happened when Gregory was going back home after the show and his driver mistook the traffic signal. In his statement, the veteran reporter claimed that he doesn’t know if the remarks were a target on the ethnicity of the driver or were made due to sheer anger.
