PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari has departed for Dubai, from where he is expected to leave for the United States to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump. Zardari is the only Pakistani politician to be invited to the inauguration ceremony, slated for 17th January.
Trump will take the oath on 20th January in Washington, preceding the start of his presidency. The newly elected President has only invited Zardari to take part in his oath-taking ceremony.
Zardari will also attend farewell dinner of the departing President Barack Obama on 2nd February. It is also expected that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will join his father in the farewell ceremony.
As per the sources out of Pakistan People’s Party, both the leaders have also set up a meeting with the new and the outgoing president, in relevance to the weakening ties between both countries.
Furthermore, it is also expected that the former President of Pakistan will undergo a detailed medical examination, owing to his health issues before returning to Pakistan by the first week of February.
