Pakistan national airline plans to let go up to 1000 employees. Find out here!

In an attempt to bring a reduction in costs, PIA management has decided to let go nearly 1000 employees, which were not resourceful for the company. The airline has also taken other measures to minimize operational costs.

The news came out through the PIA president and Chief Executive Air Marshal Arshad Malik, during a meeting with finance minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh on Friday.

According to the press release issued by the finance ministry, stated that the airline is keen to take initiatives to reduce the costs and focus on how to generate more revenue. PIA plans to take meaningful use of its resources and human capital.

The finance ministry directed PIA to initiate the independent, sustainable business plan and to effectively use its assets, improve revenue streams and ensure efficiency.

The finance minister stated that we need to realize the importance of a viable and independent corporate plan to help the PIA overcome its difficulties and achieve sustainability in its business processes and flight operations.

He also added that the hajj operations went smoothly, without any uncertainty which was a sign of improvement. The ministry offered its full support to the airline and stated that the betterment of airline will bring more stability in the aviation industry.
