IS Leader in Afghanistan Killed in Drone Attack

The leader of IS militants, Hafiz Saeed Khan, in Afghanistan is believed to be dead by U.S officials. He has claimed to be dead by a U.S. drone strike last month, according to officials’ belief.

Last year, the Afghan intelligence agency said that it believed Saeed Khan had been killed in a U.S. drone attack in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. However, the so called Islamic Sate (IS) militants assured that its leader had survived the attack.

On Friday, the U.S. said the terrorist had been killed in a new drone attack that had taken place on 26th July, 2016. The drone strike was carried out three days after the IS militants carried out its most deadly attack in Afghanistan, killing 80 people and wounding 230 at a protest of Shia Muslims from the Hazara minority in the capital Kabul.
