Facebook features ‘safety check’ on Quetta blast

“Safety Check,” the feature that allows individuals present at the area or nearby where any sort of disaster has taken place, claiming a certain percent of death toll. This feature allows family and friends to know and be informed of the safety of their loved one via Facebook, social media.

The ‘safety check’ feature has thus been set for the survivors of the blast that took place in Quetta. More than 50 people have been reported dead while at least 50 others are injured in the incident.

The blast took place at a protest where mourners including journalists and lawyers had gathered around at the civil hospital of Quetta, after the fatal shooting of a senior local lawyer.
