In the first ever typeface developed by Microsoft for any city, Dubai has become the only city to announced the launch of “Dubai Font”. The specific font will be available in 23 different languages. Moreover, it has also been developed in Arabic and Latin script, being available to 100 million office 365 users around the world.
To make the font convenient and easily available for public, Dubai Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammad al-Maktoum has urged all the government based institutions to adopt the font in official correspondence. The Executive Council of Dubai headed by the Prince stated that the font reflects the United Arab Emirates’ vision “to become a regional and global leaders in innovation”.
“It is the first font to be developed by a city and to carry its name”, Executive Council secretary General Abdulla al-Shaiban revealed in a press conference.
