According to Indian media reports, heavy firing has been reported near the Indian Army camp in the northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district, late Sunday night.
It has been reported that two soldiers have been killed along with five soldiers and two BSF jawans injured.
The attack took place at around around 10:30 pm when locals heard heavy firing in the town of Baramullah, 55 km north of Srinagar. An Army spokesman has confirmed to The Hindu that militants opened fire at the camp in Baramullah.
Initial reports claim that the militants opened fire at the brigade headquarters of the Army. “An exchange of fire is on,” the Army spokesman said.
In a tweet Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said; “Colleagues in Baramulla town are phoning with reports of massive gunfire in their vicinity. Prayers for all in the area.”
