Yes you heard it right, International Men’s Day actually exists!

After International Women’s Day, everyone could only think of why and why wasn’t there ever an International Men’s Day? So, bringing light to everyone’s kind knowledge, I’m explaining this as a result of great confusion and whining every year that International Men’s Day also exists! Taking the issue by storm all over the internet, it is to clarify that the day is observed worldwide, thus not with equal enthusiasm, on 19th November.

Care about International Men’s Day, of course. But maybe don’t care so much about it, right now, today.

The International Men’s Day that takes place on 19th November every year, will be observed on a Sunday this year ahead. While IWD takes place to work towards gender equality for women, the “objectives of International Men’s Day include a focus on men’s and boy’s health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models”, according to the official website.

So, it is to clarify once again that International Men’s Day is on Sunday 19th November and yes, you are welcome guys seriously don’t mention it! “It is an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions – in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care while highlighting the discrimination against them.”

Undoubtedly International Men’s Day is equally as legit and important as Women’s Day, counting upon male suicide rates, particularly among men in their teens and twenties, are exponentially higher than women of the same age, and a day encouraging men to focus on their physical and mental health and actually talk to one another is a good thing.

The problem is not that International Men’s Day exists, it’s that the men of the internet really only show an interest in it today.
