BM: How would you introduce Honor Mobile to the readers?
DZ: Honor is a leading smartphone e-brand under the Huawei Group. In line with its slogan, “For the Brave”, the brand was created to meet the needs of digital natives through internet-optimized products that offer superior user experiences, inspire action, foster creativity and empower the young to achieve their dreams. In doing this, Honor has set itself apart by showcasing its own bravery to do things differently and to take the steps needed to usher in the latest technologies and innovations for its customers.
BM: What had been the core reason behind introducing Honor Mobile in Pakistan?
DZ: The reason behind launching honor mobile in Pakistan was its population. Over 60% of the entire population holds that of the youth, which is the actual target market for Honor smartphones, ranging from age 18-35. Honor has designed various smartphones suitable for students, young adults and then to professional. Thus, Pakistan seemed to be one of the best opportunities to begin, with the growing telecom industry and engaged consumership. Moreover, with Honor’s reasonable price range entering the market, there is much expectation for an exponential growth for Honor in the coming future.
BM: You entered the market with the association of Huawei, but now hold it as a separate brand. Was this a planned strategy?
DZ: Honor entered the smartphone market under Huawei’s wing but has now concentrated on its sale as a separate entity. If you look at the technical specifications of the two devices, the processor, internal RAM, battery and camera are the same. However, with a few defying features Huawei is known to be a high-end class smartphone brand whereas, Honor’s smartphones are towards a more reasonable and low cost price range.
BM: Honor 10 is your first official flagship mobile introduced in Pakistan. Tell us about its exclusive features?
DZ: Consisting of the vibrant Aurora Glass body, the Honor 10 is providing a unique ever changing color device. The phone’s design provides a multi colored body where the colors change when looked at from different angles. To add to this uniquely styled phone, the Honor 10 brings forth the concept of Artificial Intelligence in phones. A 24MP + 16MP Dual-Lens AI Camera has been developed to broaden the horizons of mobile photography. With the ability to recognize over 500 scenarios, the Honor 10 makes professional photography doable for all. Combined with a 5.84” Full View Display, the Honor 10 aims to revolutionize the mobile experience for all its users.
BM: What is the core marketing strategy to influence a greater target market for Honor Mobile across Pakistani consumers?
DZ: With various Chinese smartphones and brands over-shadowing the Pakistani telecom market, many customers have lost faith in Chinese smartphones. So, with Honor, we wish to revive the faith of our Pakistani market and bring to them a brand worthy of every penny paid. We believe it is very important to communicate with the customers and therefore, we have strategized a marketing approach through multiple media campaigns and activities; from TVCs to Social Media marketing along with giveaways to customers.
BM: Holding a prominent position in the international market, do you think Honor Mobile will influence tech growth in Pakistan as well?
DZ: If you want a brand’s success then one has to follow the 4P’s of Branding; production, price, promotion and place. Hence with the innovative devices and a precise targeting strategy, we hope to continueand lead the industry in Pakistan as well, as the No. 1 smartphone e-brand just like that in China. The brand has achieved 100% growth in overseas markets since its inception. This year alone, Honor 7X has received 3 awards from top Middle East technology media, including “smartphone under $400 of the year” from Stuff Middle East, “Best Full View display at this price” from T3 Middle East, “Best smartphone under AED1000” from Tech Radar Middle East.
