The rumours had been floating across the social media as to Uber would soon be expanding in other parts of the country too. However, now the official sources have confirmed that the service is all set to launch in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
As per the latest news, the launch date of Uber in the mentioned cities would be somewhere around the end of this month, which means that the inaugural is likely within a week. The company management couldn’t announce the finalized date as it is gearing up to complete its last minute preparations, state the reports.
Uber’s launch is going to give a strict competition to Careem, which was till yet the only ride-hailing service available in Islamabad & Rawalpindi; albeit an expensive one. With the introduction of rival service, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, users could expect some amazing deals and promo codes to be announced too.
General Manager of Uber Pakistan, Safee Shah, had earlier revealed that Uber is planning to expand to maximum number of tier-1 and tier-2 cities by the end of this year.
Moreover, he has also revealed that the ride-hailing company has already established a good fleet for Islamabad and Rawalpindi and number of cars will continually grow with time.
