It has since become a way of tracking different trends and connect with groups on Twitter. A hashtag placed in front of a word on social media platforms turn different ideas, events, or any combination of words into a link that takes you directs you to a larger conversation where more people are talking and discussing about it. For example, people use it to follow along with different political, social, cultural, religious trends, live events and protests. People share their point of view on these trends by writing their point of view and adding a hashtag with the topic itself. Now twitter has different trends for every country and also has a collective list of trend for the whole world.
