With the recent change in Auto Policy, Pakistan’s automotive industry has undergone a lot of changes, with demands for the vehicles increasing more than ever. A total of 230,000 cars was sold in Pakistan in 2016, with a number continue to rising visibly by 10 to 15 percent.
Honda, Toyota, and Suzuki have taken the lead amongst the local market. So let’s take a look at the most number of sold cars in Pakistan since the beginning of present fiscal year (2016):
1- TOYOTA COROLLA:
Taking the lead as previous years, Toyota Corolla has become the topmost car to be sold in Pakistan. Producing 40,7774 units in the duration, almost 40,994 Corolla units have been sold in the same time period.
Toyota Corolla basic model is priced Rs. PKR 1,659,000 and the premium model is available for PKR 2,389,000.
2- SUZUKI MEHRAN:
Though it is one of the most subdued production, Mehran’s sales is popular among the masses due to being cheaper and easier to drive. The makers produced 29,966 units of the car within past nine months while it sold 28,036 units. It’s prices vary as per the variants, which are:
Mehran VX = PKR 679,000
Mehran VXR = PKR 732,000
Mehran VX CNG = PKR 749,000
Mehran VXR CNG = PKR 802,000
3 – HONDA CITY:
Honda City has definitely been one of those cars which has attracted a larger number of crowd. Nearly 28,120 units of these cars have been sold throughout the tenure with the production falling short of the demand.
New Honda City has recently been announced with the price tag of Rs 1.5 million.
4 – HONDA CIVIC:
After City, Civic has become one of those cars whose demand is rapidly rising among the masses. The factor of its popularity can be owed to the sporty look it features. While it would be wrong to attribute a position less to Civic than City, the relatively greater price is what makes it a bit behind in terms of feasibility, but it is popular in terms of design and specifications.

5 – SUZUKI BOLAN:
Though Japanese imports are fast hitting the roads, Suzuki Bolan is still favourite when it comes to big vehicles. Suzuki Bolan had produced 15,424 units while had the sale of nearly 14,938 units within the span of nine months.
6 – SUZUKI RAVI:
With low price and basic demanding features, Ravi is the most sold pickup around the country. With the production of 14,212 units, the sold models included 13,988 units. It can be brought for 672,000.
7 – SUZUKI WAGON R:
Suzuki Wagon R is a new name, which has witnessed drastic increase in growth in the past couple of years. With the demand increasing by nearly 100 percent, the company produced 12,884 units out of which 12,595 were sold without any ado. It is available at:

Wagon-R VXL = Rs. 1,094,000
8 – SUZUKI CULTUS:
Once again making its entry in the list, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that Suzuki Cultus is the most popular car in Pakistan. Though the recently launched Cultus model (internationally knows as Suzuki Celario) has become talk of the town, this same old car still has its charm among the masses. The company had produced 13,336 units in the past nine months, while it sold 11,905 units.
Its price ranges from Rs 1,124,000.
9 – TOYOTA HILUX:
The high-end Hilux has improved over the last few years, the testament of which is 4,239 units sold as compared to the 4,425 produced over the span of the fiscal year. Toyota also offers a higher-end Hilux Revo variant in Pakistan.
It is available around the price of 36,48,500 (the price for Vigo G, the most popular in Pakistan).
10 – SUZUKI SWIFT:
Adding Suzuki Swift in the list, this car has managed to include all the Suzuki cars in Pakistan. The car sold 3,281 units in the past nine months while the company produced 3,401 units.
