If Facebook fails to resolve blasphemy issue till 27th March, then it will be banned – Supreme Court

After today’s much awaited Supreme Court hearing, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given a final deadline for the resolution of blasphemy issue. He stated that if team Facebook does not cooperate with authorities over removing such content then the social media site will be officially banned throughout Pakistan.

Infuriating over the failing response of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) towards the issue, he remarked that the government should conduct a referendum within the public whether they would support Facebook or the respect of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Furthermore, he raised a criticizing comment on the entire nation that if we do not have the platform to update selfies, check-ins & food images then we will surely not die.

Justice Shaukat Aziz adjourned the hearing session and summoned a complete report from Secretary Interior Ministry on 27th March.
