Tech giant, Apple, has finally acknowledged for the first time that it is investing in launching its own self-driving car.
According to a letter sent to US transport regulators, Apple said that it was “excited about the potential of automated systems in many areas, including transportation”. It further added that there were “significant societal benefits of automated vehicles” to be realized.
Many rumours have been heard till date about the company’s plan but non have admitted them as yet. However, Ford, which is planning of launch self-driving cars on the road by 2021 has claimed that it was working on the basis that Apple was building as well.
According to BBC reports, Apple has already registered several car-related internet domains, including apple.car and apple.auto.
