Pakistan Telecommunication Authority launches DIRB system to block unregistered & smuggled phones

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Thursday launched a Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) to naturally distinguish sub-standard, counterfeit, and illicitly foreign made cell phones; enlist and square resistant gadgets on cell phone systems.

In accordance with the Telecom Policy 2015, PTA propelled DIRBS in a joint effort with 3G Technologies at PTA Headquarters Islamabad.

Administrator PTA Mohammad Naveed was the central visitor while Abdul Samad, Member Compliance and Enforcement PTA, Executive Director, 3G Technologies, IT and telecom industry specialists, CEOs of telecom organizations, and media group went to the occasion.
